Sandy Volz est un artiste germano-américaine basée à Berlin. Elle est titulaire d’un diplôme des beaux- arts de l’Université des Arts de Brême. Depuis 2009, elle participe au projet “Kill Your Darlings” avec plusieurs autres jeunes photographes. Elle a remporté de nombreux prix en Allemagne et a été nominée pour le Young Masters Art Prize en 2012 à Londres. Son travail a également été présenté dans des expositions internationales : en Egypte, en Inde et en Grande-Bretagne. Ses œuvres sont dans la collection Archives Open Eye à Liverpool et dans de nombreuses collections en Allemagne. En 2012, son premier livre “After Dark” a été publié par les éditions Revolver à Berlin.

Le baron Wilhelm von Gloeden, (16 septembre 1856 - 16 février 1931) est un photographe allemand.Wilhelm von Gloeden est l'un des plus grands photographes de nu masculin. Torben Weiss is a 27-year-old German photography student at the University of Applied Sciences in Munster. He says of the winning image:«The exhibited picture was taken in a German psychiatry, where I stayed for one week. I was able to take pictures of the patients in their rooms and also document daily life in the ward. The «faces» on the wall and ceiling in this image are mostly from newspapers and magazines but also a lot of pictures of himself as a small boy, his family and of his little rabbit. While I was in the psychiatry I felt, that I as a photographer, had a responsibility towards the people I photographed.»The runner-up for the Best in Show is Nick Ballon for his image of the Chacaltaya ski lift imported to Bolivia from Switerland in the 1930s.
